The second edition of Videocittà, the Festival of Vision, the cultural review of events scheduled in Rome linked by the common thread of audiovisual and the different disciplines and expressive forms of Moving Images, begins on September 20 and will continue until December.
The ever-evolving program is announced today by Francesco Rutelli, creator of Videocittà and President of ANICA and from Francesco Dobrovich , artistic director, with some of the most important innovations of Videocittà 2019 – the Festival of Vision. The second edition of Videocittà will have as its nerve center, theFormer Barracks of Via Guido Reni, owned by the Group Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Spaces that, until December, will become the Videocity of culture and entertainment where you can cross the new frontiers of audiovisual.
There are several initiatives in the Videocittà programme: screenings in the hall Intesa Sanpaolo organized for a capacity of 300 seats, international contests, audiovisual installations, virtual reality, entertainment, live events and talks with a space for reflection on audiovisual and audiovisual language with the involvement of 100Autori. Also planned are innovative moments of in-depth study on the multifaceted universe of moving images, in addition to a section dedicated to EXTRA (a program of heterogeneous and independent events that will be hosted in the spaces of Videocittà)
Even the initiatives related to Fashion, curated by AI Artisanal Intelligence choose to represent themselves in the most communicative and contemporary aspect linked to the image developed by communicators and not by creatives, where the focus is on those who develop the image itself. With this common thread, more events are planned: the focus on the professions on the theme of makeup and transformation, screenings, photographic exhibitions, VR installations.
The Festival della Visione will go beyond borders and will once again be in the squares of Rome with videomapping events, monumental video installations, involving the historical and architectural heritage of Rome with new projects of Solid Light in the historic center of the capital and on the panoramic ENI Palace, in Piazzale Mattei, in front of the Eur lake. During the weekend of 18-20 October the Capital will be invaded by hundreds of young film-makers: they will be the participants in the XIII edition of the international competition The 48 Hour Film Project, committed to making a short film in just 48 hours.
The collaboration with the MAXXI is confirmed, which, in particular, will be the space where the visual art of the Video Art Week, the section of Videocittà dedicated to contemporary art, curated by Damiana Leoni and Lorena Stamo and which will have as guests curators and artists of international importance.
