Videocittà 2018

The first edition of VIDEOCITTÀ was successfully held in Rome between 19 and 28 October 2018. Conceived and desired by Francesco Rutelli, programmed, designed and managed by a team led by Editorial Director Tommaso Radaelli, with the valuable contribution of ANICA, this start-up has set ambitious goals since its debut.

Moving images have represented the heart of Videocittà, characterising its success with:

  • The dialogue between the expressive power of Cinema and innovative realities such as Virtual Reality, VideoMapping, VideoArt and the experiments of Youtubers and Short Films in competition.
  • The priority given to transformations to protect and develop professionalism and job opportunities in these sectors.

The event was unique in its ability to revive historical architecture with contemporary faces, create connections between Cinema and Fashion, and make Rome more international. Among the main results, the following were highlighted:

  • The first week of Visual Art (1st Italian Video Art Week).
  • Dozens of events spread across numerous locations.
  • Reflections on the impact of images in contemporary societies and the evolution of journalism.
  • Involving students like those at the Rossellini School in educational activities.
