The INFN National Institute of Nuclear Physics will be present at Videocittà 2023 with the videomapping "Shapes and colors of a discovery".
The videomapping, created by Luca Agnani Studio, celebrates the tenth anniversary of the discovery of the Higgs boson, which took place in 2012 at CERN in Geneva and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2013 to the physicists who had theorized its existence. One of the structures of the site will take on colors and features of the instruments, which have been built to carry out this scientific feat: from the most powerful particle accelerator in the world to detectors the size of cathedrals, based on extremely advanced technologies. The hunt for the Higgs boson, which lasted almost fifty years, was only possible thanks to the commitment of dozens of countries, hundreds of scientific institutions and thousands of people, to which Italy contributed with the work of the INFN scientific community.
