With the help of immersive technology, we retrace the cinematographic techniques that have made the history of cinema by presenting three contents in virtual reality inspired by the innovations of the Lumière brothers and Georges Méliès. Starting with "The arrival of a train at Torrenieri station", we immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of other times of the Torrenieri railway station, surrounded at 360 ° by the green of the Val d'Orcia that expands like wildfire.
With us other people dressed in period clothes are waiting for the arrival of the historic train, which invests the visual field as in the famous short film “L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat” by the Lumière Brothers. With “Drive Your Style”, we find ourselves on the back seats of a car, while the dancer Margherita Landi performs a game of transformations that pushes us to explore the space at 360 ° to follow her appearances, disappearances and displacements; a cinematic trick that recalls the suspension of the resumption of the iconic “Escamotage d'une dame chez Robert-Houdin” by Georges Méliès. We end with “Drumpossible” which, inspired by Méliès's L'Homme-Orchester ”, shows drummer Fabio Vitiello and his clones intent on playing a piece of music in sync. With VR we become part of the musician's creative process and we are spectators of a spectacular split.
